If you as owner can not maintain a cache anymore there is the possibility to put the geocache up for adoption.
To hand over a geocache you need to find a new owner first.

Put a cache up for adoption

1. Open the geocache listing and click on Edit:

2. Click on [offer for adoption]:

3. Enter the user name of the new owner :

4. Read the explanation carefully and confirm that you understand the process by checking the box:

5. Click on Submit:

Now you have put your geocache up for adoption.

Adopt a geocache

1. Rufe dein Profil auf und klicke links im Menü auf Adoptieren

2. Klicke in der Übersicht der zur Adoption angebotenen Caches beim gewünschten Cache auf Adoptieren

3. Lies die Nutzungsbedingungen und bestätige die Adoption zu diesen Bedingungen
